U2’s manager of over 30 years, Dennis Sheehan was found dead in his hotel room early yesterday morning (Wednesday, May 27). The band had kicked off a five-night stand at the Forum the night before, and paid tribute to him during the show last night.

Sheehan was in his 60’s, and had also worked with Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed and Iggy Pop. When he was found in his hotel room, paramedics called to the scene were unable to revive him, and it’s believed he died of cardiac arrest. U2 decided to perform night, feeling that Sheehan would have wanted the show to go on. According to sources close to the band, everyone is still in shock and the decision to continue with the next show(s) is “subject to change”.
