napoleon

Capital Appliance and BBQ has given us a barbecue! And now we want to give it to one of you! This is the Napoleon Prestige BBQ. It can be yours for Father’s Day, just for sending in your favourite barbecue recipe. Here’s an example:

The Doc and Woody show will collect all your recipes, and Eric will cook the three we like best. As an example, THIS is Eric’s favourite barbecue recipe:

Cedar Plank Salmon

2 cedar planks, soaked (at least two hours – I like to put them in the water before I leave for work)

Mix together (for marinade):

2/3 cup vegetable oil
2 TBSP sesame oil
3 TBSP rice vinegar
2/3 cup soy sauce (sodium reduced just as good as regular)
1/2 cup chopped up chives
2 1/2 TSP chopped fresh garlic
2 1/2 TBSP finely grated fresh ginger

In a large freezer bag, place 4-6 salmon steaks and pour in the marinade.

Marinate for at least half an hour, at most one hour.

Put the planks on the BBQ, pre-heated to about 350 – toast both sides of the plank, then put 2-3 steaks on each one.

Barbecue between 350-400 for 15-20 minutes (until you can flake it with a fork)
Note – it will keep cooking on the plank once you take it off the BBQ, so either take the plank off just before the fish is done or serve the salmon immediately!
