I’m the ‘celebrity’ ride captain again this year for the Telus Ottawa Motorcycle Ride for Dad (June 4th this year!). Which means I’m out in front of the pack of thousands of motorcycles. Here is a video of what happens in a bike race when the pace motorcycle stalls. My absolute worst nightmare!

I have my motorcycle license, but I haven’t been able to get out to practice. Many people ask me what year I’ll start riding on two wheels instead of the three-wheel Can-Am Spyder I borrow annually from the generous people at Loiselle sports. It won’t be this year! Riding slowly out ahead of a pack of bikes? That’s tough to begin with, and until I can afford a motorcycle with which to practice, no way I’m risking something like this!

This was a bicycle race in Brooklyn on the weekend – the massive pileup sent seven people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
