A statue of Eagles’ singer Glenn Frey has been erected in “Standing On The Corner Park” in Winslow, Arizona. The statue is a tribute to the Eagles’ song ‘Take It Easy’ which features these lyrics:

“Well, I’m a-standin’ on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It’s a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin’ down to take a look at me”

The park already had a statue of a “troubadour” that many thought bore a resemblance to Jackson Browne. Browne and Frey were the co-writers of the song, and since Frey’s death in January two DJs from Phoenix’s KSLX have raised the $22,000 needed to erect the matching bronze statue.

Also in the park is a two-story mural of a girl in a flatbed Ford.
