Yesterday, we put up a fireworks safety video. Apparently not everyone listened…a brief rundown of (a small sampling of) yesterday’s fireworks disasters:

Hershey Pennsylvania – the town fireworks show set a whole field on fire

Chicago – man loses part of his hand

Kentucky – man killed bending over fireworks

Iowa – man loses his hand

Fargo – man lost part of his hand

Fort Lauderdale – guy lost his hand

Mother and baby in Iowa hit by fireworks installed sideways

Michigan – lost hand

Washington – kid lost hand, other kid has arm broken and burned

Boston – hand amputation

And more locally…

West Perth (Ontario) – hay bales lit on fire, closed down a highway

The fire yesterday morning at St. Francis Assissi school here in Orleans (might have been) fireworks setting off propane tanks that then exploded on the roof.
