Disturbed‘s front man David Draiman has been fighting for a cause recently that has been taking a lot of his friends and colleagues away from him. Depression and Addiction epidemics that have taken the lives of musicians like Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington (2017), Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell (2017), as well as Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots (2015), and David doesn’t want anyone to have to go through these issues alone.

“I miss Chester. I miss Chris. I miss Scott.”

During one of their shows in late February, David use this platform to urge fans to seek help if they are struggling with their mental health or addictions, and to help their family and friends if they need it, “Drag them kicking and screaming to rehab if you have to.” In one of the latest tracks from Disturbed’s album Evolution, A Reason To Fight talks about addiction and depression and fighting through those feelings in order keep living.

When the demon that’s inside you is ready to begin

And it feels like it’s a battle that you will never win

When you’re aching for the fire and begging for your sin

When there’s nothing left inside, there’s still a reason to fight
