Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ is one of those songs that you know backwards and forwards by now, or you’ve heard it in passing and may not know all the words, but you still KNOW it. Well drummer Travis Barker supports Elise Trouw and  Sound Of Metal star Paul Raci in a version of ‘Enter Sandman’ that will get you looking at the song in a new light. Especially because Paul Raci is signing throughout the song.

 

 

Sound Of Metal is a new film that follows the story of drummer Ruben who is, “- one half of the duo Blackgammon along with his singer girlfriend Lou. A former drug addict, he is sober for four years. Suddenly, he begins to lose his hearing. His sponsor makes him go meet Joe, who leads a deaf community. With the help from them, Ruben struggles to accept his situation”. Paul Raci is Joe in the film, and an advocate for the deaf community.

 

 

This familiar and yet very different version of ‘Enter Sandman’ was put together to celebrate the release of the Sound Of Metal on Amazon Prime. Elise Trouw’s hauntingly beautiful vocals and drums, supported by Travis Barker, while Paul Raci shows off his signing skills is really cool. Just watch for yourself below.
