Whitesnake have put together a trilogy of themed compilation albums that will be rounded out by the final instalment getting released next month. The “Red, White and Blues” trilogy began last year with the release of Love Songs (Red) and The Rock Album (White), which will now be completed with the upcoming The Blues Album.

Love Songs‘ theme is exactly how it sounds, with Whitesnake putting on one album, “…a new collection that contains remixed and remastered versions of the group’s best love songs.” The Rock Album’s theme is, “…their hardest-hitting songs of (their) multi-platinum career”. This final album puts the band’s best blues-rock numbers together, which also show off who inspired the band. Well known Blues artists like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and the three Kings: Albert, B.B. and Freddie. Whitesnake’s singer-songwriter David Coverdale said so himself that on The Blues Album, “It’s hard to find the words to show how profoundly (these artists) connected with my soul. But ‘blues’ to me is a beautiful word that describes emotional expression… feelings, be it feelings of sadness, loneliness, emptiness… but, also those that express great joy, celebration and dance, sexiness and Love!!!”

This latest album is ready for pre-order now and you’ll be able to get a physical copy of The Blues Album February 19th, 2021.
