Researchers from the University of Miami discovered that gym head injuries are on the rise…especially among young men. An analysis of over 580,000 injuries between 2013 and 2022 found that the incidence rate of exercising and weight-lifting related head injuries increased by 32.7%.

Such an injury impacts one out of 1,264 gym goers every year.

Teen boys and men between the ages of 15 and 19 were especially at risk. Researchers suspect that ego might have something to do with it…these younger men may be trying to lift more than they should.

Having a spotter can be one way to help prevent injuries. (Study Finds)
